Every outside disc, imported in minutes. Nothing leaves the workstation.

MIA Toolkit copies the studies from the CDs and DVDs patients bring in, organizes them and writes a standard DICOMDIR to USB or a folder. It runs offline on one workstation, is open source (MIT) and needs no account.

Why outside discs cost you time

  • 22–30%

of outside CDs fail to import

Sodickson et al., Radiology 2011; Lichstein et al., Orthopedics 2018

  • 10 min

    median staff time per disc

Woo et al., J Trauma Inj 2022

  • All local

your studies never leave the workstation

    MIT-licensed, open and auditable

MIA Bridge

Imports outside studies straight into your PACS and pulls PACS studies onto clean patient media — on-premise, inside your network.

Where it fits

For critical-access hospitals, orthopedic, neurology and oncology practices, second-opinion programs, teleradiology groups and independent imaging centers.

Outside-study import

At the film library or medical-records desk: read the outside CD, organize its studies and hand standard DICOM to your existing import step.

Patient discharge media

Consolidate a patient's discs onto one USB drive with a standard DICOMDIR for discharge or transfer, instead of burning another CD.

Second-opinion intake

Programs that receive discs by mail can process them in one place and get an inventory of what each disc contained.

Compliance and security

What MIA Toolkit is, and what it is not. Each statement names its basis; ask us for the documents behind it.

TopicOur position
Device statusNot a medical device: software solely to transfer, store, convert or display images (FDA MDDS guidance, Sept 2022; FD&C §520(o)(1)(D)); never interprets.
HIPAANo BAA needed: we never receive or access PHI (HHS HIPAA FAQ 256). Support works only with de-identified screenshots or logs — please never send us PHI.
NetworkZero network traffic while it works. The only request the app can make is an update check that a user starts by hand, and it sends no identifiers. The code is open source (MIT), so your team can audit it.
OutputStandard DICOM: a DICOMDIR file-set on USB or in a folder, ready for your existing import workflow.
Signed buildsmacOS: signed and notarized by Apple. Windows: not yet code-signed — SmartScreen may warn during installation (More info → Run anyway). Windows signing is in progress.

Estimate

Your intake, estimated

Example: a site that receives 1,000 outside discs a year.

  • ≈139 h

    staff hours saved per year

  • ≈75

    failed imports avoided per year

  • ≈160 discs/yr

break-even volume for the Hospital license

Assumptions, not measurements: import time falls from 10 to 5 minutes per disc, failed imports fall from 15% to 7.5%, chasing each failed disc takes 45 minutes of staff time, and staff time costs about US$22 an hour.

These are estimates — your pilot measures the real numbers.

Pricing

One annual license per site or network. The software is the same free, MIT-licensed app; the license is the support and compliance-documentation package on top.

Every license includes a license certificate, an invoice for procurement, priority email support, an IT deployment guide and a security one-pager — and it funds free access for patients everywhere.

Prices are in US dollars (USD). Online checkout is being set up. For now, each button opens a short request form and we reply by email with a payment link, invoice or quote.

Full refund within 30 days of any annual charge, no questions asked. No pro-rated refunds after 30 days; cancel any time to stop renewal.

Set it up on one intake workstation — about 15 minutes, no server and no account.

  3. Measure

For two weeks, log each disc on a one-page sheet: minutes spent and whether it imported.

  4. Decide

Compare with your own numbers, then license it or walk away. No commitment.
